On arrival we’ll enjoy a Devonshire Tea before a presentation on the benefits and the History of the Leigh Marine Laboratory and Reserve.  We’ll experience the touch tank and learn how to identify local marine animals.  Observe up close parts of different species using the BIGeye microscope and take in the fantastic views of the marine reserve.  Then we head to the nearby Sawmill Café for a yummy lunch.  Mid-afternoon we are hoping to take a peak at the Whangateau Traditional Boatyard (depending on boatyard activity at the time) and see the fantastic work that is being carried out, keeping our wooden boat heritage, not only alive, but thriving.
