Our adventure begins with two days in Melbourne before sailing to Tasmania (overnight cabins). We then spend four days traveling around the North and then down the East Coast of Tasmania till we arrive in Hobart for an epic FIVE nights at the luxury Grand Chancellor Hotel in a stunning Harbourside location! No more packing of bags, just relax and enjoy the activities we have lined up for you ...many at your own pace.

  DAY 1: Fly Auckland to Melbourne
Our afternoon flight has us arriving mid-afternoon with a transfer to our Melbourne Central City Hotel

  DAY 2: Melbourne Sightseeing and River Cruise
Magnificent Melbourne! A morning Coach Sightseeing Tour visiting all the hotspots - Federation Square, Queen Victoria Markets, St Pauls Cathedral, Lygon Street, MCG, Chinatown, Flagstaff Gardens, Parliament Hours and much more. Then a 2-hour Yarra River Cruise.

  DAY 3: Free Day till Ferry to Tasmania
Today is to relax and/or explore more of Melbourne till our early evening Spirit of Tasmania overnight Ferry (ensuite cabins) to Tasmania.

  DAY 4: Arrive Tasmania - Cradle Mountain - Grindelwald
Welcome to Tasmania! Breakfast in Sheffield before our Cradle Mountain Explorer tour to Doves Lake and King Bill Forest at Waldheim Chalet. Stay overnight at the Swiss Village of Grindelwald.

  DAY 5: Cataract Gorge - Legerwood Tree Carvings - Bay of Fires - Scamander
Visit Cataract Gorge's amazing clifftop gardens, peacocks, pools, suspension bridge and one of the longest single span chairlifts in the world. Heading East we stop at the Legerwood Tree Carvings and the coastal vista of the Bay of Fires before descending into St Helens and then the beautiful seaside village of Scamander.

  DAY 6: East Coast Nature World - Bicheno - Port Arthur Historic Site
Get up close and personal with the vicious Tasmania Devil and feed the Kangaroos at East Coast Nature World. Enjoy a Harbourside Lunch at Sealife Bicheno. Awesome views of Freycinet Peninsula. Pass through Swansea and pause at Spiky Bridge. Follow the Prosser River Valley through to our Motor Inn, which is right on the edge of the Port Arthur Historic Site.

  DAY 7: Port Arthur to Hobart
Spend the morning at the Port Arthur Historic Convict Settlement. A guided tour of these 40 hectares of landscaped grounds followed by a Boat Cruise. This afternoon enjoy the Georgian town of Richmond with Australia's oldest Catholic Church and Stone Bridge. See our first glimpses of Mt Wellington and the Tasman Bridge as we roll into Hobart for an epic FIVE nights at our Luxury Grand Chancellor Harbourside Hotel.

  DAY 8: HOBART - Australian Wooden Boat Festival gets underway
Today will be a spectacle you will never forget, as over 300 classic wooden boats, from all over the country, enter the harbour (we can watch from any number of nearby vantage points or even from our rooms!) culminating in a massive 'Sail Past' which signals the 2025 four-day Australian Wooden Boat Festival has begun. See street vendors, entertainers and buskers, markets and all manner of food/beverage companies displaying their wares. With over 200,000 visitors expected over the next four days, Tasmania will be putting its best foot forward for us. This is an exciting and very colourful place to be!

  DAY 9: Hobart Hop-On/Hop-Off Double Decker Bus
A great way to get around Hobart and see all the local attractions is aboard the Hobart Hop-On/Hop-Off open-top Double Decker Bus (48 hour ticket). Stay on-board for the full 90 minutes or hop on , hop off at any one of 20 convenient stops around the city including Salamanca Place, Battery Point, The Cascade Brewery, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, Sullivans Cove, Princes Park, St George's church, Wrest Point Casino, Sandy Bay Village, South Hobart Village, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Old Hobart Gaol and Victoria Dock. Being at your own pace allows you to fit sightseeing in around any of today's festival speakers and activities.

  DAY 10: Full Day Bruny Island
Today we travel, by coach, to Kettering to ferry to Bruny Island. Sightseeing through the island to Adventure Bay to board our custom built fast adventure boat for a three hour cruise of this wild coastline. We zoom between sheer cliff faces to see the treacherous location where the Southern Ocean meets the Tasman Sea. Drift quietly past resting seabirds and large haul-out home of thousands of seals, keeping a lookout for dolphins, sea eagles and great white sharks. Enjoy lunch before retracing our steps back to Hobart. This is a fantastic day out!

  DAY 11: Hobart Hop-On/Hop-Off Double Decker Bus
Our last full day in Hobart allows us to enjoy more of the festive activities of 'The Australian Wooden Boat Festival'. Several nautical challenges and competitions (boat building, raft racing, street parades, etc) will be coming to an end, with a great spectacle of fun and ingenuity/ Today, you are able to use the second half of your Hop-On/Hop-Off Double Decker Bus Ticket, checking out anything you may have missed on Saturday.

  DAY 12: Fly Hobart to Auckland
This morning we are transferred to Hobart Airport for our 12.20pm Air NZ198 non-stop flight to Auckland, arriving 5.50pm. Shuttles will be waiting at Auckland Airport to take us home.
